In the 20-year history of the business and 17 wonderful years of Upstairs At
The Grill these are without doubt the hardest times we have encountered and
beyond anything we could imagine. We are all living through unprecedented
times and having to face the unknown every day.
We have poured our hearts and soul into this restaurant and are proudly one
of the longest standing restaurants in Chester. We have been overwhelmed by
the support and warmth you have shown us since we opened. It has been our
honour and a privilege to have welcomed so many wonderful guests over
the years and to have shared to many special occasions.
We have ridden many storms and have always managed to keep our doors
open for all our guests, as we’ve always been able to deal with what has been thrown at us.
We are using our heads and hearts to work our way through this new challenge but following
the government’s announcement we have had to close the restaurant.
We strongly believe this is purely a temporary measure, but the reality of the
situation is that without our guests we have no business. But in making this
difficult decision we believe that there can be hope.
We must be optimistic and hope that the threat of this virus will end, that the
government will offer support and that we’ll be able to return to work alongside our
fellow team who we love and our guests who we love to welcome.
Every day we are working through solutions to overcome these challenges as
we want nothing more than to bring our team back to work, to open our
restaurant doors and to welcome you all.
Until then, look after each other, pull together and make the best choices
you can for you and your loved ones.
With much love from all at Upstairs At The Grill.
